Foundation Names Kroft Executive Director

The AMDA Foundation Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Robin A. Kroft, Ph.D., as the Foundation’s new Executive Director. Prior to joining the Foundation team, Dr. Kroft was Executive Vice President at ABMRF/The Foundation for Alcohol Research, a position she had since 2006. Before that, she was the organization’s Vice President for several years.

Virtual Access to the Wall of Caring

Over the past eight years, the Wall of Caring has been a poignant and powerful staple at the AMDA Annual Symposium. Foundation members and friends can honor their mentors, colleagues, patients, and loved ones with inspiring tributes, while making tax deductible contributions to long term care research activities. This year, as in 2008, all contributions to the Wall will directly support the AMDA Foundation Futures Program.

Foundation Preps Future Leaders

The agenda is set for the 2009 AMDA Foundation Futures Program, a day-long schedule of sessions to educate residents and fellows about careers and opportunities in long-term care. The program will be held on Thursday, March 5, and feature Futures Co-chairs Heidi White, MD, MHS, CMD, and Cari Levy, MD, CMD, as well as CMD Board Chair Frederick Rowland, MD, CMD; AMDA members Jeffery Kerr, DO, CMD, and Karyn Leible, MD, CMD, Barbara Messinger-Rapport, MD, CMD; and JAMDA Editor-in-Chief John Morley, BCH.
