The AMDA Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Stefan Gravenstein, MD, MPH, CMD, FACP as Director of the Long Term Care Research Network. Dr. Gravenstein began his position on April 1, 2007.

Wall of Caring Stands Tall and Strong

Vol XXXI, May `07 The 2007 Wall of Caring, the AMDA Foundation's premiere fundraising event at AMDA's Annual Symposium, attracted tributes from AMDA members and friends for a total of $44,000. This includes a $20,000 matching donation from Ortho Biotech.

Honoring Dr. Karuza

Vol XXXI, May `07 The AMDA Foundation honored Jurgis Karuza, PhD, who served as Interim Director of the Research Network for nearly a year, during Friday's General Session at AMDA's 30th Annual Symposium. Dr. Karuza led the Network through two meetings and progress on several projects.

Futures Continues to Gain Accolades

The 2007 AMDA Foundation Futures Program drew raves from attendees, the 59 residents and fellows who came to the Annual Symposium to learn about careers in long term care. Program Co-chairs Cari Levy, MD, CMD and Heidi White, MD, CMD and Erin Blume, Senior Research Coordinator successfully planned a program that provided participants with a current and enlightening picture of long term care.
