"This has been a great way to support the Foundation. There is some terrific artwork here that reminds us how creative, talented, and productive many of our residents still are," said Dennis Stone, MD, CMD, at the AMDA Foundation's first annual art auction. Over $35,000 was raised during the event held during AMDA's 2006 Annual Symposium. In addition to silent and live auctions, the evening featured gourmet desserts and jazz.

"Every AMDA member should join the Foundation's Research Network," said Bernard Ewigman, MD, Professor and Chair of Family Medicine at the University of Chicago, at the Opening General Session of AMDA's 2006 Annual Symposium in Dallas, Texas. Why join the Network? Because, he stated, "Your patients deserve it." He added, "We need your clinical questions, your clinical judgment, and your patients to participate in studies."

Wall of Caring Breaks Record PDF Print E-mail

Tributes to colleagues, family members, patients, and mentors built the Wall of Caring, a symbol of the commitment that AMDA members and friends have made to the Foundation and its long term care research efforts. The Wall raised a record total $53,063 through the generosity of donors and a $20,000 matching grant from Ortho Biotech.

The AMDA Foundation released its first-ever annual report at the AMDA Annual Symposium in Dallas. The document details the Foundation's efforts, successes, and activities during 2005. It also includes financial information for that year. This historic document clarifies how far the AMDA Foundation has come in a short time.
