 Vol VI, Sep `03 The AMDA Foundation's Long Term Care Research Network, under the careful guidance of Director Larry Lawhorne, MD, and the Research Network Steering Committee, has made tremendous strides in the past 12 months. This November, preliminary results from three Network initiatives--the Statin Study, the Diabetes Study, and the Do Not Hospitalize (orders) Study--will be discussed at the Third Annual AMDA Foundation Research Network Conference in Chicago. Proposals for new studies will be accepted until October 24. |

 Vol VI, Sep `03 The AMDA Foundation will provide 2 nights of complimentary hotel lodging for this important meeting (at the lovely flagship property of the Doubletree Hotels, located just off Michigan Avenue and Chicago's Magnificent Mile), as well as a $200 travel stipend to Research Network member participants. (Travel details will be provided upon confirmation of participation.)

To help expedite the process and bring to the Conference fully developed proposals, the Research Network Steering Committee has approved a Request for Proposals (RFP), which contains guidelines regarding: Eligibility, Topic Selection; Literature Review; Methodology; Budget; and Timelines. |
