 Vol III, Jan `03 The AMDA Foundation is hosting a range of important research, recognition, education, and fund-raising programs and events during the AMDA Annual Symposium. Physicians: Take the Statin Survey |

 Vol IV, Mar `03 Investigators from the Foundation's Long Term Care Research Network are conducting a survey of medical directors and attending physicians during the AMDA Annual Symposium. Physicians may take the survey online at Internet Alley (Anaheim Room), at computer terminals in the Crystal Foyer (near Registration), or at the AMDA Foundation Booth (#508) in the Exhibit Hall. Hardcopies of the survey will also be available. |

Internal Review Board Session to Be Held in Orlando |

 Vol IV, Mar `03 Larry Lawhorne, MD, the Director of the AMDA Foundation's Research Network is chairing a session entitled "Understanding the Role of the Internal Review Board. Both veteran and new researchers are invited to this program, which will offer insights into the composition of IRBs, mandates including federal regulations for research on animal and human subjects, and IRB's role in the approval and monitoring process for research projects. The session will be held: Friday, March 7, 2003, from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, in room Crystal K. |

 Vol IV, Mar `03 Thursday, March 6 from 4:30-7:00 pm, the AMDA Foundation/Pfizer Quality Improvement Awards Finalists will be at their posters to meet judges and attendees, and to answer questions about their projects. Five of the presenters will receive awards of $5,000-$7,000 each. Winners will be announced during the General Session II, Saturday, March 8 from 8:00-10:30 am.  Vol IV, Mar `03 The William Dodd Founder's Award recognizes significant contributions to building the organizational strength, image and mission of AMDA. The James Pattee Excellence in Education Award acknowledges significant contributions to the educational goals of AMDA. Both of the aforementioned awards will be presented during the President's Reception, Saturday, March 8.
The Howard Guterman Poster Award was instituted in 1988 to encourage original research submissions to the AMDA Annual Symposium and recognize the most outstanding contribution to the Poster Session. The award will be announced at General Session II, Saturday March 8. |
