Vol I, Aug `02 JAMDA will soon publish the keynote presentations made by Dr. Leslie Libow and Dr. Kurt Stange at the 2001 Dallas conference. I have submitted an editorial commenting on the presentations and on the Research Network in general.
The manuscript on the "medical director's management of falls" study is in final draft form thanks to the hard work of the writing group. Network members who would like to volunteer to review and comment on the paper should contact me by September 2, 2002. |
|
Vol I, Aug `02 If you have not already completed a tutorial on protection of human research subjects through a university or other educational program, please complete the tutorial on the NIH website (link below) and send a copy of your certificate of completion to the AMDA Foundation office. The Network will soon be moving into studies where evidence of investigator completion of this course or an equivalent will be required. |

Vol I, Aug `02 As you can see, there has been a great deal of activity in a range of areas and the Network is growing--with membership now more than 200. However, our success ultimately lies in our ability to sustain ourselves in exploring what does and does not work when caring for those who live in the 16,000 nursing facilities across the U.S.A. By participating in the projects that we have identified and refined as a group and by attending and actively participating in the Dallas meeting this coming November, we can move forward and accomplish the goals that we have established.
