The AMDA Foundation sponsored several important programs during the 30th Annual Symposium. Among the highlights:

  • Turning Research into Practice" featured Dr. Karuza as moderator and speakers Larry Lawhorne, MD; Cari Levy, MD, CMD; and Paul Katz, MD, CMD.

  • Leslie Libow, MD, CMD, moderated "QI Awards: One Year Later," which featured previous QI award winners Daniel Bluestein, MD, CMD; Elizabeth M. Galik, PhDc, CRNP; and Julie Gammack, MD.

  • During the In the Trenches sessions, Larry Lawhorne, MD, and Cari Levy, MD, CMD, led a discussion about the Physicians Inquiries Network.

  • The Foundation co-sponsored the Symposium's Opening General Session, which featured Stefan Timmermans, PhD, discussing "Is Evidence-Based Medicine a Wave Worth Catching?"
