The 2007 AMDA Foundation/Pfizer Quality Improvement Committee and its Chair Dr. Leslie Libow were pleased to present awards to three recipients. This year, the awards were changed from three therapeutic awards to one general award and two therapeutic awards.

These recipients will begin their projects this spring and present their findings at the Quality Improvement Awards: One Year Update presentation at the 2008 AMDA Symposium. This year's award winners are:
  • General QI Award Winner: Alice F. Bonner, RN, GNP, FAANP. "Patient Safety Culture and Quality Outcomes in Nursing Homes: Examining the Relationship".

  • Therapeutic QI Award Winners: Mary Ersek, PhD, RN. "Web-based Education to Enhance Pain Assessment in Nursing Homes". Sumi Misra, MD, MPH. "Can the Specificity of Physician Orders about PRN Pain Medications Increase Resident Control Over Pain?"
