As the AMDA Foundation gears up for its second annual "Works of HeART" Art Auction, to be held during AMDA's 2007 Annual Symposium in Hollywood, FL, next March, many of last year's participants are enjoying their purchases from last year and looking forward to finding new treasures at next year's event.

"I got a painting called 'Three Men at the Track,' and I have it hung above my pool table," said Dennis Stone, MD, CMD. "It was fun to see all the wonderful works of art and to spend money on a painting without feeling guilty. You get something nice, and you contribute to a worthy cause at the same time," he added.

"The art auction is a great opportunity to socialize and support AMDA. And it's interesting to see what is donated by residents and physicians," stated Charles Crecelius, MD, CMD. "I got a unique photograph [Flowers 1 by AMDA member Mario Cornacchione], which I have displayed in my office. I get lots of compliments on it, and people appreciate it all the more when they hear the story behind it and how I obtained it at a charity auction," he noted.

Many participants at last year's auction are excited about returning for a second helping of culture and camaraderie. If you missed last year's program, we urge you to come out this year and join your colleagues at next year's event. Watch this e-newsletter for further details. In the meantime, the AMDA Foundation is accepting donations for the auction. If you have items to contribute, contact Chris at the AMDA Foundation, 410-992-3134.
