Vol XVI, Jul `05
At last year’s fall AMDA Foundation Long Term Care Research Network meeting, participants started to address innovative ideas and offered guidance about programs they would like at future meetings. At the 5th Annual Research Network meeting in Chicago November 11-13, 2005, members will have an opportunity to take the next steps forward on several fronts. In addition to learning about developments regarding the Family Practice Inquiries Network (FPIN), Long Term Care Panel, updates from ongoing study groups, and reports on recently completed Research Network studies, participants will gain insights from experts on topics such as informed consent for cognitively impaired patients, human subjects protection, and survey and instrument design.

“The Research Network meetings help maintain the momentum that we need to enable projects to get off the ground. It keeps people invested in the process, which translates into better studies,” said Network member Matthew McNabney, MD, CMD. This year’s conference will provide momentum and accomplish more toward facilitating the long term care research agenda than any previous Network meetings.
