Author Donates Proceeds to Foundation

David Brechtelsbauer, MD, CMD, is donating all proceeds from his fee for writing a regular column in Caring to the Ages to the AMDA Foundation.

“I feel there is a critical need for long term care-based research,” he said, explaining, “So many studies have results that are not generalizable to the frail elderly and, therefore, not very useful to me in my long term care work. I’m hopeful that the Foundation-sponsored studies will help fill that gap in knowledge.”

Foundation Executive Director Lorraine Tarnove expressed gratitude for Dr. Brechtelsbauer’s generosity. She stated, “This ongoing gift to the Foundation is a tribute to his commitment and spirit. This kind of belief in what LTC research can accomplish and the breakthroughs it can enable keeps the Foundation growing and moving forward.”
