Foundation Board Tackles Strategy, Training and Other Issues |

 Vol XIII, Apr `05 Under the guidance of Chair Jonathan Musher, MD, CMD, the AMDA Foundation Board of Directors addressed a wide range of issues during its meeting in New Orleans on March 17. Among the highlights:
- Motion passed to explore a closer link between the work of the AMDA Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee and Foundation Board via a liaison member
- Preliminary plans to develop a research methods tool kit for researchers and to seek funding for research methods training sessions
- Plans developed for a integrated database that links the Research Network Membership Profile data with publicly reported nursing home data
- Motion passed to hold a consensus conference on obtaining consent/assent from patients with dementia and to develop national guidelines
- Discussion of an advanced Futures Program
- Decision made to proceed with the pilot for the FPIN project, pending financial agreement
