Efforts to study the implementation and use of AMDA clinical practice guidelines as part of an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) grant are moving forward. Facilities in Pennsylvania have completed their data collection and currently are working through the process of implementing their assigned CPG. Initial feedback suggests that the facilities have experienced few problems with guideline implementation. However, Marcia Yesko, the state nurse coordinator in Pennsylvania, will be monitoring progress carefully in the coming months.

The Foundation held a training program in September for all the state nurse coordinators. Yesko led the training and the lessons learned discussion. Participants unanimously said that the program was helpful and enhanced their comfort level with their role as state nurse coordinators.

There is an opening for a state nurse coordinator in Ohio for the Partnership.
