Nurse Coordinators Named for LTC QI Partnership PDF Print E-mail

The Foundation has hired several state nurse coordinators to assist in creating and maintaining a local quality coalition, assisting in screening champions, and handling other responsibilities as part of the LTC Quality Improvement Partnership.

Marcia Yesko, RN, MA, NHA, will work in Pennsylvania. She currently is a health care consultant providing administrative and nursing consultation to long term care and personal care facilities. She conducts survey preparedness inspections, clinical performance reviews, and medical records audits. She also develops policies and procedures, provides inservice education, offers legal consultation and staff/management training, and supplies corporate compliance monitoring.

In the past, Yesko has served as Director of Nursing (Continuing Care Center) at Allegheny General Hospital and Administrator at UPMC McKeesport Skilled Nursing Facility.

Hope A. Caldwell, RN, MS, will work in Florida. She is a health care consultant and educator in St. Petersburg, where she provides consulting and training services to SNFs, and facility training on regulatory compliance and clinical systems related to Quality Indicators and Quality Measures. She also is a Master Teacher for a RAI credentialing program and an interim RAI coordinator. Previously, Caldwell was Clinical Services Manager at Harborside Healthcare in Boston MA<, Director of Nursing at The Fountains in Tucson, AZ, Compliance Specialist at Extendicare Health Facilities in Milwaukee, WI, and Director of Nursing at Majestic Towers Health Center in St. Petersburg, FL.

Debra M. Kriner, RN-C, will work in >Ohio. Currently, she is owner of d. kriner & associates LLC in Sylvania, OH, where she researches and prepares Medicare applications for facilities requesting certification, performs onsite assessment of clinical operations to ensure federal compliance, and provides onsite clinical operational analysis, among other activities. Previously, she was Associate Manager of Clinical Services, Plant & Moran LLP, and Director of Nursing, Villa North Health Care Center.

Kathy Johnson will work in Indiana. She is Vice President of Courtney & Associates in Indianapolis, where she is directly responsible for consulting services, education, and training activities. Previously, she was Wellness Director of a 68-bed assisted living facility and Assistant Director of Nursing at a 132-bed skilled nursing facility.

Nancy L. Bergstrom, PhD, will work in Texas. She is Trumble Professor of Aging Research and Associate Director for Research, Center on Aging, University of  Texas-Houston, Health Sciences Center. Previously, she was a Professor of Nursing and an Interim Associate Dean at UNMC in Nebraska.
