The Fourth Annual Meeting of the AMDA Foundation Long Term Care Research Network is set for October 28-31 in Chicago, IL. This invitation-only conference is a goldmine of information, networking, and education for network members and features nationally known speakers addressing the issues of greatest concern for long term care researchers.

Among the highlights:

  • Peter Vasilenko, PhD, Chair of the University of Michigan Committee for Research Involving Human Subjects, will address, “Protecting Human Subjects and Privacy: Toward a Kinder, Gentler IRB.”
  • Patricia A. Parmelee, PhD, will discuss “Skill-Building: Designing a Study with the Power to Get a Meaningful Answer.”
  • Bernard Ewigman, MD, will expand on “The A, B, C’s of Conducting Literature Searches: Evidence-Based or Evidence-Biased?”

Participants also will have a chance to hear updates on current network research projects, discuss new and ongoing network proposals, and meet informally to share ideas, solutions, and best practices.

Watch future issues of this newsletter for highlights of this important meeting. In the meantime, read more about the Foundation Research Network and how you can get involved at www.amdafoundation.org.
