Vol IIX, Oct `04 This intensive learning experience is designed to expose residents and fellows to the numerous career opportunities available in long term care, and feedback from participants suggests that it does that and more. They praise the program, and they make the most of the opportunity to attend meeting sessions and talk to AMDA members. This program has brought more than one promising leader into the folds of AMDA and long term care. Take the case of Cari Levy. She participated in the Futures Program two years ago; and her experiences with the program and the AMDA Annual Symposium led her to become one of last year’s Foundation/Pfizer Quality Improvement Award winners. “I have felt such tremendous support from AMDA since participating in the Futures Program, and I was eager to participate in another AMDA sponsored program,” she says. “This project has generated additional research questions has stimulated my desire to move forward with proposals to answer these questions.” And it was all triggered by her involvement with the Futures Program.
