Young Career Medical Director Scholarships are available for 2003. These prizes provide seven early career medical directors with free travel, hotel lodging and meeting registration for the AMDA Annual Symposium, March 6-9. 2003, in Orlando, Florida. To be eligible, applicants must have been in practice fewer than 5 years; be actively involved in their state/regional chapter and show leadership potential; and agree to attend the entire symposium and a celebratory reception.

Medical directors interested in this scholarship should contact their state/regional chapter president for a letter of support. Each state/regional chapter may nominate 1 applicant who has been approved by the chapter's Executive Committee. Applications should contain contact information for the award nominee and a brief statement of support (no more than 150 words). The application deadline is January 10, 2003.

The AMDA Foundation Young Career Scholarships are supported through an unrestricted educational grant from Pfizer. Awardees will be chosen by lottery to ensure an impartial process. Those states chosen from the lottery will be deleted from the applicant pool in subsequent years until all state/regional chapters have been represented.
