Despite the above barriers, nursing staff show interest in research and its application. Willson et al. surveyed 241 nursing staff about their future education and found that more than a third of nursing staff (38%) would like to take classes that teach them how to implement nursing research into practice.

Knowing that many nurses are, in fact, interested in the application of research, what steps can you—as a researcher—take to overcome barriers and successfully perform research in this setting?
