Vol XVI, Apr `06
Nursing home residents' pressure ulcers can be prevented and managed. Although pressure ulcer recognition and treatment presents special challenges in the nursing home, a systematic and interdisciplinary effort to do so is essential.

AMDA's Pressure Ulcer CPG and Pressure Ulcer Therapy Companion CPG help nursing homes assess their care practices and incorporate evidence-based practices into their care delivery systems--and improve care.

Using a framework that is relevant for all nursing home staff, the CPGs provide:

  • Information about current practices; and
  • Discussion of many issues that are not found in the nursing home regulations.
