State Spotlight: Year 3 Summary

Vol IX, Sep `05

As Year 3 of the LTC-QI Partnership ends, we are preparing our annual report to AHRQ. Below is an excerpt with updates from each state:

California

After slow recruitment, we expanded the target area in CA. Erin Blume will train three eligible homes this month.

Florida

After delays caused by last year's hurricanes, eight homes completed training in May and August; Hope Caldwell will train two more this month.

Indiana

Recruitment remained slow in Indiana this year, even after expanding the target area. Kathy Johnson trained three homes; two others are completing paperwork.

Ohio

Tomi Groppenbacher trained eight homes facilities in August and will train another this month. A final home is completing enrollment.

Pennsylvania

Five of the original seven homes are engaged in CPG implementation and completed their 9-month data collection period in June. (Two homes dropped out.)

Texas

Louise Jones trained seventeen homes in July and August; she will train one more this month.
