The AMDA Foundation's Long Term Care (LTC) Research Network will host its annual fall conference at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Chicago, IL on November 11-13, 2005.

The Research Network, which was formed in September 2000 to help translate LTC research into practice, aims to support the members and mission of AMDA. The goals of its annual conference include:

  • Setting priorities in LTC research;
  • Identifying and discussing barriers to LTC research; and
  • Disseminating data and results from completed as well as ongoing Research Network projects.

To help address the last objective--dissemination of results--several members of the LTC QI Partnership project team will attend the conference and participate in a panel discussion.

The session, "Overcoming Barriers in LTC Research: Lessons Learned from the AMDA Foundation's LTC QI Partnership," will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 10:15-11:45am and will feature Co-Principal Investigators David Polakoff, MD and David Gifford, MD, MPH as well as project staff Barbara Calabrese, RN, Erin Blume, RHIA, Meg Richards, PhD and Rosa Baier, MPH.

At the LTC-QI Partnership's session, panelists will share information about the study's progress-to-date, including barriers encountered.

For more information about the Research Network's conference, please visit the AMDA Foundation on the Web at www.amdafoundation.org/researchnetwork. We hope to see you in Chicago on November 12th!
