Vol IV, Mar `05
Last month, Marcia Yesko, the state nurse coordinator for Pennsylvania, visited each of the participating facilities in her state to check on their progress and also to deliver jars of candy and certificates of participation.

The certificates of participation (click here to view an example) recognize facilities for their commitment to the project. They are mounted on plaques for the facilities to display and are signed by co-Principle Investigators David Polakoff, MD and David Gifford, MD, MPH.

The certificates of participation read, in part:

"Presented to [this facility] to recognize your 2004-2006 participation in the Long-Term-Care Quality Improvement Partnership: A clinical practice guideline implementation project to improve resident care processes."

Marcia has been periodically checking with the PA facilities to guide the CPG implementation process, and reports that CPG implementation is going smoothly. We're happy to hear this, since PA is our pilot state, paving the way for CA, FL, IN, OH, and TX.
