The AMDA Foundation is pleased to announce the 2009 Art at The Wall. During this event, held March 5-7, 2009, at the 32nd annual AMDA Symposium in Charlotte, NC, we will display and auction off artwork at the Foundation exhibit booth located near the Ballroom and meeting rooms at the Charlotte Convention Center. The event will showcase art from residents of long term care facilities, as well as other artisans from around the country and other donated items. Each day a selection of paintings, ceramics and other handcrafted items will be displayed and auctioned off to support the Foundation and its research efforts.

Since 2006 we have auctioned off over 275 items from artists from across the country to help fund the Foundation's research efforts. We are currently soliciting art from residents in long term care facilities, AMDA members and corporations. In addition to works of art you may contribute vacation timeshares, jewelry, collectibles, or memorabilia, and textile pieces such as quilts, stuffed toys or crocheted items.

At the 2009 auction, we would like to involve a group of residents in creating an original piece for the auction. The Foundation is offering a small stipend for a limited number of facilities who would like to produce a painted mural for the auction. At the 2008 auction, such a mural produced by a Colorado facility attracted a winning bid of over $200.
