Each year the AMDA Foundation Futures Program fills quickly. It didn’t take long for the word to spread that this is an essential course for residents and fellows who have an interest in geriatrics and long term care. While not all Futures alumni have pursued careers in long term care, every one of the nearly 400 participants has gained tremendous insight into this field, what it entails, and how fulfilling and challenging it is to care for the nation’s elderly.

Program co-chairs Cari Levy, MD, CMD and Heidi White, MD, CMD have put together a strong agenda for the 2008 Futures event. “I am most excited to have Jeffrey Kerr, DO, CMD as a featured presenter on risk management,” says Levy. “His brief presentation was so well received by the fellows last year, we were eager to provide more time for him to speak on this topic.”

This year’s Futures Program is set for March 6, 2008, as part of the AMDA Annual Symposium in Salt Lake City, UT.
