Vol XXXV, Jul '08
AMDA Foundation Futures Program Co-Chairs Cari R. Levy, MD, CMD and Heidi White, MD, CMD, have planned another enlightening program for 2009 that promises to inspire others to pursue long term care careers.

The Futures Program, held during AMDA’s Annual Symposium, is a unique opportunity for residents and fellows with an interest in geriatrics to learn about the numerous opportunities in long term care.

Over the past seven years, more than 430 primary care residents and geriatric fellows have participated in this program; and, for many, it has marked the beginning of their long term care careers.

All PGY II or III Internal Medicine or Family Physician residents and PGY IV or V Geriatric Medicine Fellows are eligible. Participants will receive:
  • Admission to the Futures Program in Charlotte NC on March 5, 2009
  • Complimentary registration for the AMDA Annual Symposium, March 5-8, 2009
  • Air transportation to and from Charlotte, NC
  • Lodging while at the Annual Symposium (shared with another Futures participant)
  • AMDA membership for one year beginning in March 2009
  • The opportunity to participate in a mentoring program

Interested individuals may click here for more information. The application deadline is November 21, 2008.
