| Innovative Research Network Meeting Open to Practitioners Beyond AMDA |

 Vol XXXV, Jul '08 “By opening the meeting to physicians and others beyond the Research Network - and AMDA, we present an opportunity for more people to learn about the group and to be part of its research activities,” says AMDA Foundation Executive Director Gwendolyn Maddox. “Increasingly, we hear from other team members—nurse practitioners, social workers, and even hospitalists—who are interested in long term care research. We want to encourage these individuals to bring their enthusiasm and experience to the table,” she adds. The meeting’s theme is “Quality Improvement as Research: Improving Quality in Long Term Care,” and the event will feature several “how to” sessions on topics such as implementing and measuring a Quality Indicator (QI) improvement plan and application of QI improvement strategies. In addition, nationally-known experts will deliver keynote addresses, and participants will have an opportunity to offer their thoughts on possible research topics and how they will measure and/or report data. Registrations received after Oct 15, 2008 are $195. You must register for the conference online at our secured site; we are unable to process registrations over the phone.
