More practitioners and researchers than ever will have an opportunity be a part of the AMDA Foundation Research Network. The Fall Conference, set for November 14-16, 2008, at the Sheraton Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD, is open to physicians, nurse practitioners, researchers, and other professionals.

“By opening the meeting to physicians and others beyond the Research Network - and AMDA, we present an opportunity for more people to learn about the group and to be part of its research activities,” says AMDA Foundation Executive Director Gwendolyn Maddox. “Increasingly, we hear from other team members—nurse practitioners, social workers, and even hospitalists—who are interested in long term care research. We want to encourage these individuals to bring their enthusiasm and experience to the table,” she adds.

The meeting’s theme is “Quality Improvement as Research: Improving Quality in Long Term Care,” and the event will feature several “how to” sessions on topics such as implementing and measuring a Quality Indicator (QI) improvement plan and application of QI improvement strategies. In addition, nationally-known experts will deliver keynote addresses, and participants will have an opportunity to offer their thoughts on possible research topics and how they will measure and/or report data.  For more information, click here for more information on the meeting.

The registration fee for the conference is $150 if you register on or before October 15, 2008. Registrations received after Oct 15, 2008 are $195. You must register for the conference online at our secured site; we are unable to process registrations over the phone.

The Foundation has a conference rate of $195 per night (single/double) with the Sheraton Inner Harbor which is valid until October 15, 2008; after that date hotel rooms/rate are subject to availability. Therefore, it is recommended that you make your hotel reservation before Oct 15, 2008.
