  • PGY II or III Internal Medicine or Family Practice Residents
  • PGY IV or V Geriatric Medicine Fellows
  • Previous participants are not eligible to apply

Application Procedure

The application deadline is November 14, 2011. Applicants must complete an online application and attach a Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a Letter of Interest (no more than 250 words, describing your interest in long term care practice and why you feel you will benefit from participating in this program). A Letter of Support from the applicants program director or another AMDA member is also required.

Talk with your program director and ask whether they will fund the travel and hotel expenses. Many fellowship and/or residency programs will pay for travel/lodging to one professional conference per year. Let them know that this is the conference you would like to attend in 2012!

To Apply

All Futures applications must be submitted online where attending documents can be uploaded in electronic form. Applications received in our office other than through our web site will not be reviewed.

The online application submission process is only accessible by registered users of our site. Please see My Area for more information on registration. You may log in and gain access to the online application once you are registered. You may then complete and submit the online application from the Programs => AMDA Foundation Futures Program => Futures Program Online Application menu item.

Method of Selection

The AMDA Foundation Futures Selection Committee ranks the applicants according to their Letter of Interest, CV and Letter of Support and makes selections based on the highest scores. Priority is given to lead authors of a poster accepted at Long Term Medicine 2012 in San Antonio, TX. Please do not make any travel or hotel arrangements until you are notified of your acceptance.
