Vol XXXVI, Oct '08 Donations by you, your organization, your state chapter, or other individual or group also are welcome. Particularly, we need items such as fine art pieces (paintings, sculptures, etc.), jewelry (watches, pearls, fine gemstones, or gold), and time share vacations or trips. If you would prefer, you can make a cash donation and we will purchase an item in your name for the auction. If you would like to involve a group of residents in creating an original piece for the auction, AMDA is offering a small stipend for a limited number of facilities who would like to produce a painted mural for the auction. At the 2008 auction, such a mural produced by a Colorado facility attracted a winning bid of over $200. The auction will be held over three days—March 5, 6, and 7, 2009--during AMDA’s Annual Symposium in Charlotte, NC. Approximately 10-15 items will be on display each day and available for bidding. The winning bids will be announced at the end of the day. If you would like to donate items or discuss creating a mural or other item, please contact Joanne Kaldy at 240-527-9848 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or Chris Danihel at 410-992-3134 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it They will give you all necessary details and help you with shipping information. |
