Dr. T.S. Dharmarajan, the principal investigator on the AMDA Foundation research project, "Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) in the Long-Term Care Facility,” was awarded a prize for a poster at this year's Bronx County Medical Society 6th Annual Doctors’ Recognition Day Symposium held at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

The poster was entitled, “Implementing DVT Prophylaxis across the Continuum of Care in Hospitalized Adults through Assessment and Reassessment of Risk: A Performance Improvement Initiative.”  Dr. Dharmarajan also received an award at the same society meeting for "Unparalleled Leadership in the Medical Community and His Dedication to Medicine and Research". Dr. Dharmarajan is the Vice Chairman, Department of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, the Clinical Director of the Division of Geriatrics of the North Division of Montefiore Medical Center and also Program Director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program.
