Ginger, St. Catherine's Manor of Washington Court House

This is Ginger. Ginger is a 3 year old Beagle-Dachshund mix that has been my full-time companion to the 10 facilities I visit. She literally lives to go on rounds with me and is devastated if she can't go for some reason. The residents have developed such a love for her, the first thing I hear now is "where's Ginger?"

She has had such a positive impact on the residents. I have seen smiles on faces, where there were none before and residents opening up and conversing when we could hardly get a word from them.

The nursing home staff love Ginger as well. She brightens their day and they are always giving her treats and feeding her quite well, as you can tell. Most importantly, her presence brings a joy, calm and comfort to my residents which no medication could.
