This is a picture of Claudia. She “grew-up” in long term care. I actually purchased Claudia in 1994 from the activity director at Harbor Hospital’s Extended Care Facility in Baltimore.

The activity director had brought her litter to the facility for the residents and it was love at first sight. Claudia continued to come into the facility once a month for a visit. Later that year, I took a position at a free standing 120 bed SNF in Baltimore. At first, Claudia came in daily, running around the facility and bringing so much joy. She loved to be on someone’s lap and babied. However, she started to get very “rotund” as the residents were sneaking her food, so we had to cut her visits down to once a week. It’s amazing the love and joy a dog can bring into people’s lives and Claudia enjoyed doing that. In memory of my sweet departed Claudia, I hope we can pay her tribute by showcasing her in the calendar.
