Hi. My name is Franklin's Chocolat' Princess. You can call me Choc, all of my friends do. My mom works at Truman Healthcare in Lamar, MO, as a PTA. I have been going to work with her since I was 6 weeks old.
 Chocolat' Princess, Truman Healthcare & Rehab We have a lot of fun. The residents think it is great fun when they play keep away from me and I run back and forth chasing the beach ball while they are working on their balance. I get to go to everyone's room and visit, sometimes I get lucky and get to sit on the bed with them or maybe just in a chair next to them, so they can pet me and relax. I really enjoy going to the Alzheimer's Unit and seeing everyone there. I get a lot of petting from the residents in the unit. I like to see their smiles and hear stories of their pets. Many residents say they will only come to therapy if I am there. The staff all greet me when I come in and if they are having a bad day I get to spend a lot of time with them on their breaks. They pet me and tell me what is going on in their lives. It is great especially when they feel better and can do a better job because I was there for them. Just recently I had a back injury and learned it is just a matter of time before I will not be able to use my back legs. My dad and a family friend are going to design and make me a wheelchair so that I can still go to work with mom. Hopefully when someone who is having to work hard in therapy will see life can still be fun and despite a few changes they can still lead a full life and bring enjoyment to others. See you at work.
