The Golden Girls

It was a perfect match from the start when the “Golden Girls” met: Goldie, a golden retriever and Lisa, an Activity Professional. Lisa and Goldie where paired up through the Southeastern Guide Dogs Adoption program.

Goldie was released from guide dog training after two years and placed for adoption upon having received the unfortunate diagnoses of Hip Dysplasia. Lisa had been on a waiting list for eight months prior to receiving a phone call that a dog was ready for adoption.

Lisa is a Certified Activity Professional who works at River Garden Hebrew Home in Jacksonville, Florida and Goldie is a well trained guide dog who has become an amazing companion to many residents and staff of the Home. “It is truly a blessing to have Goldie work beside me everyday and to see the enjoyment on the residents faces", says Lisa.
