![]() Fergus, Linden Grove-New Berlin When Mary adopted Fergus last October, she started bringing him to work with her everyday knowing how great the socialization with the residents would be for the puppy. However, she never imagined the impact that Fergus would have on all the residents (and staff) at Linden Grove. Residents, family members and staff alike came from all over the building to meet Fergus. One of Fergus' favorite residents at the nursing home says the he is 'the light of her life' and her family has stocked her room with a variety of goodies for Fergus that she delivers every time she passes his 'office'. Fergus also served as a living hug for a resident and her family on her journey through hospice care at Linden Grove-New Berlin. Fergus met the family each day they came to visit their aunt and would snuggle quietly on her bed or their laps in her room as they kept vigil. On that last day, Fergus was a small warm hug for her family as they grieved. Fergus stayed with the family as they called others to share the news, all the while snuggled on their laps reassuring them he cared. Fergus is usually a source of entertainment for the residents with his little snorts and silly antics. Whether rolling on his back for a belly rub or curled up in his mom's desk chair, the residents always smile when Fergus is near!
